What's waiting outside
Six rarity tiers, from common to the gold secret rare. The pigeon on the pavement counts as much as the fox you caught at dawn — the encounter is what makes the card.
Common Kingfisher
What changes
An identifier that makes you want to go back out.
Most identification apps hand you an encyclopedia entry and forget you. SafaRoll hands you something worth keeping.
- 01
The species, not the family
SafaRoll runs on BioCLIP 2.5, a model trained on the entire tree of life. It returns the species — Vulpes vulpes, not "a canid" — for birds, insects, spiders, snakes, frogs, fish and mammals. Identification is free and unlimited.
- 02
Your photo becomes a card
The animal is lifted out of your shot as a clean die-cut sticker, then set on a painted scene. The card takes the creature's real colours and the holo treatment its rarity earned. Two players who catch the same species don't get the same card: yours has your photo in it.
- 03
A collection that fills in
Every capture joins your index. The species you haven't found yet wait as silhouettes — opening your own collection means seeing your own gaps. Build decks from your best cards and publish them.
- 04
A world map, and a guide
Every capture lands on your map: you see what lives around you, and where. Monthly quests always leave something to hunt. And the Guide, an AI naturalist, answers on the behaviour, habitat or secrets of a species you just met.
Three moves
Point, shoot, collect.
No catalogue to memorise, no identification key. You point, you shoot, you know.
Point at the animal
Bird on a wire, bug on a leaf, the neighbour's cat: the viewfinder locks the subject and tells you when the shot is good.

The card is revealed
The species lands in a second, the animal is cut out of your photo, and the card takes its rarity: stars, foil, energy type. It joins your collection.

It drops onto your world map
Every capture marks a point. After one season the map tells you where you have been — and the month's quests give you the next reason to head out.

A look inside
Parchment, ink, and cards.
An interface that feels like a field notebook, not a dashboard.

Everything you want to know about SafaRoll.
Clear answers — what the app identifies, what it cannot do, how your photos are handled, and what it costs.
SafaRoll is an iOS app that identifies the species of any animal from a photo, then turns it into a collectible card. You point, you shoot, and the species name lands in about a second. The animal is cut out of your own photo to become the card: birds, insects, spiders, snakes, frogs, fish, mammals and molluscs — 5,576 species across ten groups.
The next animal you walk past has a card.
